Do I need to live where the company is based?

No, not always. 🛩️ Business aviation works differently from commercial aviation. In a classic airline you have a base: if your base is Paris, your work starts from Paris. In business aviation, the aircraft travels the world: you can live in France while the aircraft is in London, New York or Dubai.

When your rotation starts, the company sends you where the aircraft is. This is called positioning, and this professional travel is covered by the company. So you do not always need to relocate for the job. Some positions do require living near a specific base: always check the offer and the contract.

Will I always work on the same private jet?

Not always. 🛩️ It depends on your position. If you work for a private owner, you mostly fly the same aircraft, with the same client. If you work for an operator running several jets, you may fly different aircraft, with different clients.

Every position is therefore unique: aircraft, destinations and clients vary with the company and your contract.

Do I have to pay for my hotels and transport while working?

No. 🛩️ When you travel for work, the company covers your hotel and necessary transport during your rotation. For example, if you land in New York and stay two nights, the hotel is paid, as well as transfers between airport and hotel.

Depending on the company, you also receive a daily allowance for meals and other expenses. Costs linked to professional travel are therefore not yours to bear.

Will I know my schedule in advance?

Yes, in many companies. 🛩️ You generally have a roster, your work calendar. Depending on the company, you know your working days and days off months in advance, sometimes up to a year.

For example, with a 15 ON / 15 OFF roster, you work 15 days then are completely free for 15 days. When you are OFF, you are truly OFF: nothing is asked of you. You can sometimes choose extra days or cover a colleague's, but that remains separate from your normal roster. During ON days destinations can change: you know when you work, even if you do not always know where you will fly.

What type of contract can I have?

There are several options in business aviation. 🛩️ Many VIP Flight Attendants are on permanent contracts, with a regular salary and a fixed or planned roster. Fixed-term contracts also exist, for a specific period or mission.

Another path: working freelance. You choose the missions you accept and work with different operators or private clients. It all depends on what you seek: stability, flexibility, regular rotations or more freedom. That is one of the sector's strengths: several ways to build a career and find the life rhythm that suits you.

How much can I earn as a VIP Flight Attendant?

Salaries vary widely in business aviation. 💰 As a guide, entry-level positions sit around €3,500 to €4,000 per month, and experienced VIP Flight Attendants can earn significantly more.

Salary and benefits depend on the employer: some companies offer bonuses, extra leave, a 13th or 14th month, allowances or other advantages. As in any industry, each company has its own grid and conditions.
